Brian discovers an ad for an incredibly low priced house. After checking, he buys the house and discover that it is even more impressive than expected. He learns from the notary that the seller was a distant uncle, banished from the family, who wanted to bequeath the house to him.

 

A few weeks after settling in, Brian receives threatening letters. On the advice of his lawyer, he hires Jamie Delroy, a private detective. Jamie discovers that the threats are coming from a former associate of Brian's uncle, seeking to get the house back. With some evidence, they have the attacker arrested.
