Gardian News journalist Lucas Delarive leads a relatively ordinary life until one night when a strange artifact literally falls from the sky and changes his destiny. When he discovers this oval object, similar to a rugby ball, after a series of shooting stars, his life changes into the inexplicable.

 

The artifact reacts only to Lucas' presence, remaining inert to others, including Dr. Elise Moreau, a specialist in xenobiology. Lucas and Dr. Moreau, after a series of events involving military vehicles and mysterious telepathic communication from the artifact, find themselves in a remote cabin in the Tiers Forest.
